The Editing & Innovation Core (EiC) works with investigators to improve the scientific significance and impact of their writing projects in regenerative medicine. Editing services are tailored to investigator needs and can include assistance with mechanics, clarity, and scientific arguments.

Manuscript Editing

Manuscript editing services are designed to strengthen communication of your scientific findings. Our editor will provide scientific feedback; edit your manuscript for clarity, organization, and flow; edit for grammar and language; and provide suggestions to enhance figures and graphics.

For projects submitted starting September 1, 2024, the fee for manuscript editing is based on author affiliation:

  • WashU Center for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) member: $60/hr*
  • WashU, other than CRM: $75/hr
  • Outside of WashU: $97.50/hr

Grant Editing and Strategizing

We offer grant editing and strategizing services for all stages of your project to advance the development and strength of your proposal. Grant editing services include scientific feedback to enhance significance and impact; editing for clarity, organization, and flow; document formatting and style; and feedback on figures and graphics.

Writing Workshop Series

Our editor facilitates workshops and seminars customized for the needs of the CRM research community. We design and deliver didactic content and hands-on activities to equip participants with the training and tools to improve the clarity, efficiency, and impact of their scientific writing. Application is open! Join us for the Fall 2025 Fellowship Proposal Writing Workshop on November 14 & 21.

This 2-day, in-person workshop is specifically designed for trainees who are preparing or planning to prepare a fellowship application. Lectures will provide a foundation in proposal planning and writing that will be applied in hands-on activities and peer-editing sessions. Participants will gain the practical skills and confidence to craft a compelling and competitive application.

Meet the editor

Jennifer earned her PhD at the University of Miami in 2018 and joined Washington University as a postdoctoral fellow where she continued a research career as senior scientist until 2024. She bases her advice on 14 years of experience as a laboratory researcher spanning neurobiology, cell biology, skeletal biology, and metabolism in Drosophila and rodent models. She has three years of experience of editing and schema design with Washington University’s trainee-run scientific communication network, InPrint, as well as extensive experience assisting colleagues with writing, editing, and graphics throughout her research tenure.
