BRC Microgrants – Request for Applications

Program Description

The Center of Regenerative Medicine (CRM) provides full-service bioinformatics capabilities through its Bioinformatics Research Core (BRC). To facilitate usage of the core and offset costs, the CRM will offer microgrants to be used for bioinformatics data analysis and other related services at the BRC.

Eligibility and Specific Requirements

Awardees must be faculty members at Washington University in St. Louis and must be members of the Center of Regenerative Medicine. Proposals must advance the mission of the Center of Regenerative Medicine.

Terms

Microgrants of up to $1,650 each will be awarded, all of which must be spent at the Bioinformatics Research Core and which must be used within 6-months of the award. Awards may not be transferred. Micro-grants are not eligible for the CRM bioinformatics subsidy and will be charged at the standard hourly rate. Questions may be addressed to Erica Scheller (scheller@wustl.edu) or Bo Zhang (bzhang29@wustl.edu).

Review

Applications will be reviewed by an internal selection committee identified by the leadership of the Center of Regenerative Medicine.

Instructions

To apply for this award, please submit the following information as a single PDF document:

  1. NIH-style biographical sketch
  2. Project title
  3. A research statement describing the proposed research, including relevance to the CRM mission. Proposals should not exceed 1 page in length, using standard margins and 11-12 pt font (Arial or Times).  Preliminary data are not required but may be included.
  4. A brief budget justification based on proposed usage and corresponding costs at the BRC, using estimates provided by the BRC.  For example, 15 hours of RNA-seq data analysis x $110/hour = $1650.
