Research from Sam Morris’s lab, which was recently published in Nature, was featured in The Source. This study combined single cell RNA-sequencing with lineage tracing, to allow for unprecedented resolution into how cell fates are determined. Congrats to the entire Morris Lab!

Ornitz Lab wins FASEB BioArt Competition (Again!) (Links to an external site)
Lu Yang (PhD student), Sung-Ho Huh (former postdoc), and David Ornitz (PI) are among the winners of the 2018 FASEB BioArt competition for their stunning image of the olfactory epithelium within the mouse nasal cavity. The Ornitz Lab also won in 2017 for their X-ray microscopy study showing blood flow in the lungs. Congrats!
Dr. Karch to lead collaborative neurodegeneration grant from CZI (Links to an external site)
Celeste Karch PhD (Psychiatry) was awarded a collaborative grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to study the role of TREM2 in Alzheimer’s Disease. This collaborative grant is part of the larger Neurodegeneration Challenge Network, and also features WUSTL faculty members Carlos Cruchaga, Gregory Day, and Oscar Harari.
